Or at least draw things that look like them. I posted this already with the old version of my site, but it was lost when the site level up’d. I found the image again, so here ya go:

This is pretty much how I go about drawing my hands. I find that starting with a trapezoid shape really helps me flesh out a decently proportional hand. People tell me I draw hands really well, so even if they aren’t anatomically correct, at least they look good doing so.

Honestly, I don’t go through all the steps I drew here anymore, as I try to avoid erasing and I have a decent grasp of how hands are shaped. But I do still start off with the trapezoid when I need help positioning a hand correctly. Until you can draw a hand without such help, you might find my method quite useful.

In other news, upgraded to WordPress 2.3.1. It has tag support! Unfortunately, Comicpress doesn’t have widget support to show a tag cloud yet. Poopy.
