KC Masterpiece flavor

KC Masterpiece flavor

I went to Kansas City for the Memorial day weekend. Left Friday morning, endured a ~10 hour transit time via Grayhound bus. Was picked by Joe, and his “Silverfish,” better known to the masses as a Toyota Corolla.

  • We chowed down on some Kansas City barbeque. It was quite yummy. We ate specifically at Oklahoma Joe’s, a local restaurant with an outdoorsy feel. Both Joe and I got a “Z-man” sandwich, fries, and a drink. They give you a large amount of yummy crispy fries, and the Z-man was delicious as well. The brisket on the Z-man was well cooked and tender, and slathered in their delicious sauce. Kansas City is one of America’s main hubs for barbeque, and their sauce tends to be sweeter than the ones from the South, which tend to be more vinegar based.
  • Watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It was okay. I don’t have much to say about it. Except… Aliens. Silly Hollywood.
  • Received a rude awakening from Joe’s roommate during the night.
  • Played a bit o’ frisbee on Satday and Sundie. Darn gnats.
  • Drank a lot of smoothies. Daphu, I’m definitely buying me us a blender. That way you we can make yummy smoothes for me us to drink.
  • Amused myself with Joe’s PS3. (Also owned him on Smash on the Wii.)
  • Explored downtown KC and saw some amusing sculptures. Also ate at another fancier BBQ place.
  • Met Ana
  • Made dumplings. Yum.
  • Watched Grindhouse and No Country for Old Men. Grindhouse was funny. No Country was good. Chigurh’s hair was ugly.
  • Relaxing time overall. The return trip wasn’t so fun though. More on that later.

Side note, it’s almost been a year since I came back from Taiwan, so I think I’ll try to finish those posts up sometime soon. Hehe.
