Plague Bearer

Plague Bearer

I think this is currently the biggest comic I’ve drawn. Stands 2000 px tall! I would break it into multiple images, but I don’t know if I can display multiple “comics” for the same day with the current build of ComicPress I’m using. Anyway…

I do get sick. I’ve given myself food poisoning a few years back, and i had another (albeit minor) case of food poisoning from some chicken fajitas. Barring that, I haven’t been “sick” for a darn long time time. The last cold/flu I remember, was during junior year of high school, so…. around 2003 or 2004?

I’ve been blessed with fairly good health for as long as I can remember. I’d get colds like anyone else, but never the kind that seemed to debilitate others. There was one particular time back in either junior high school (6-8th grade) or maybe 5th grade that I had to stay home sick. I don’t remember whether it was the flu or not, but it was bad enough that I was bed ridden for the entire day and even had some relatives stop by to see how I was doing. But after that, I never really got sick much again. Colds would become so minor, that sometimes I wouldn’t even notice. And now, it’s been so long since I’ve experienced one I have no idea what it used to feel like.

So for a while, I thought I was simply not getting sick anymore. But then it dawned on me, that instead of not getting sick at all, I prolly just didn’t have symptoms anyone. (WHICH IS JUST AS GOOD IN MY BOOK) The difference was that, a sick person might take efforts to distance him or herself from others to prevent them from also getting sick. And likewise, you might want to avoid directly dealing with sickly people. But what if neither party knew? And so my situation. I think I’m been blindly spreading colds for the past years. And not just any colds. You know how they say the last colds/flu’s of the season are always the worst? Well these are freaking A-TEAM cold viruses. So yeah. Sorry everyone-around-me-who-kept-getting-sick-even-though-you-might-have-been-taking-care-to-avoid-sickly-people-only-to-get-flumageddon-from-me.

Here’s to hoping I continue this trend for years to come!

For multiple reasons, this is one of my favorite comics that you have done in a while.

    why thank you.

I think it´s kinda the same with me. When everyone around me gets the flu, I get my own version and have to sneeze like once a day – and thats it. No running nose, no coughing, nothing at all.

I assume that at least a good part of the reason for that is, that I didn’t get medicine for every little illness as a child so my body learned to take care of that himself.

The Office’s cold open for episode “China” from this past season. Watch it, relevant to this particular comic. And funny.
