I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while, but I’ve been distracted lately. hehe.

Remember this comic? Well now, I get to say I’ve completed one of my lifetime goals.

Kyle, a friend, got me in touch with Chrystal, the owner of cleangeeks.com Over at her site, she features her handmade soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and lotions. The cool part is that she makes game controller shaped soaps that come in different soda scents.

After reading my comic, Kyle had asked her if she would be interested in making a line of grape soda scented products in addition to her regular line. She thought it would be a good idea, and sent me a complimentary bottle of grape soda shampoo and a NES controller soap bar! I was very much, “Yay!” to hear this; I honestly had no idea that soda scented soaps existed at all!

AND IT'S IN A CRUSH BOTTLE!!

When I got her package, I could smell the Grapey-ness even before I ripped it open. And when I took the bottle out, I had to fight the temptation to take a gulp of the shampoo right there. Being the geek that I am, I actually still have my Nintendo with me, so here’s a comparison photo- My controller is on top, and the soap is below. A bit smaller, but looks great, as you can see.

I’ll prolly keep the controller for novelty’s sake, but I’ve been using the shampoo for a few days now. It smells amazing in the shower, and I smell wonderful out of the shower. I catch whiffs of my grapey hair throughout the day, and it is absolutely lovely. Gives me soda cravings.

Check out her page, even if grape soda’s not your thing. The last time I checked, I saw Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper scented products in addition to grape soda. And I also spotted a Companion cube soap, that could use some serious companionship. It makes scents! Ho ho! I made a funny!

Kinda looks like he's dancing, right?" />

Isaac Clarke is an angry man in Dead Space 2.

And he has every right to. *spoilers*

Has to separate from girlfriend, who is going on a long space voyage to a mining colony.
Receives distress message from girlfriend and flies off on rescue mission.
Rescue ship crash lands, ruining exit transport.
Gets separated from the marines during an attack by a monster.
Learns that ship is infested with Necromorphs- reanimated grotesquely transformed corpses.
Has to defend himself with mining tools.
Sends out word to a nearby ship for help, but that ship also gets infected.
Learns that one of the rescue team is actually trying to screw him over.
Learns that his girlfriend is actually dead, and that he’s been getting hallucinations of her.
And then, the 2nd game happens. lawl.

I’d be pissed too. “I have to do this? Again?”

So, it was a rather amusing surprise when I found out that if you keep on stomping, he starts yelling and swearing. Pretty hilarious. I must’ve spent a combined half hour of gameplay just smashing corpses into bits.

EDIT: Hovertext disappeared for no good reason. Added again.

It’s a fun game, albeit a short one. I had played Amnesia: The Dark Descent not too long ago, and I decided to try to try an earlier game from the same company.

The game is a physics-based game where you can interact with your surroundings to solve puzzles, create barricades, and fight off enemies. Like the dog illustrated above. If you play this game and come across an enemy for the first time, you will quickly realize that fighting is not easy. There are no guns. Everything, weapon or not, needs to be swung or tossed to get them to move.

The comic is about the first dog I encountered, and the point at which I decided to fight back. Direct combat on the ground, is pretty hard if you don’t have the timing absolutely right. And thus, my savior. The box. A dog that seems to be able to burst through any number of obstacles before it, is incapable of jumping a box. Game mechanics FTW.

If you like survival horror, try the game out. Pretty cheap. I approve.

Over the past few months, I’ve been playing Arkham Horror and it’s expansions. Arkham Horror is a team situational game, meaning the players have to deal with the environment together to win. It’s kinda like a “dumbed down” version of pen and paper DnD or a World of Darkness game. It’s still a very rich game, with many different strategies for play, keeping the game interesting.

One of the funny points about the game is that each “location” has a bunch of potential preset encounters that “just happen” to take place at the same time a player arrives.

Still, if you’re interested in pen and paper RPGs but don’t want to commit so much time to it, Arkham Horror is a pretty good segway.
