So, today marks the first full year of enrolling over at Projectwonderful.com, an ad company. Technically my ads didn’t really go live until December, but.. whatever.

I have earned $17.59. Minus my 1 dollar withdrawl fee, that totals $16.59. My hosting costs are 48 dollars, plus about $10 from domain registration. All in all, a net loss of $41.41. Looks terrible, huh?

This is actually great news. I had honestly expected to earn little to nothing from ads, but recouping about 15 dollars is actually pretty significant for a wittle quomic bwog like mine. So anyway, thanks for visiting my site, and I hope you continue to enjoy whatever nonsense I manage to post when I’m not being lazy.

I’ll prolly try rotating some of my ads to Google adsense to see if I get better turnaround. When that happens, I hope I’ll receive your continued support. (OMG PLEASE CLICK THEM OMG PLEASEEEE PLEASEE CLICK CLICK) lol.

So, if you glance over to the right hand side, you’ll notice a (possibly ugly) ad from Google beneath the sidebar. Whereas the ads on top and left hand side are not click-based, the Google ones are. Not that I’m saying CLICK THEM PLEASE OMG PLEASE CLICK THEM LIKE MAD CLICK CLICK, just thought I’d let you guys know.

I’m gonna try some things to see if I can get my hosting costs, (which aren’t too terrible,) covered by ads I place here and there. In a few days, I’ll have hit a full year of ads (project wonderful) and I’ll post a report here to show you guys how much I managed to earn. It’s more than $0.

I’m prolly gonna upgrade soon, meaning it’s possible and Likely that I’ll ruin everything and lose a ton of data.

Maybe this is a good time for some site revamping. If the current color scheme is disagreeable, please let me know. Otherwise, if my current layout doesn’t work, I plan to create a new one with similar colors.

Yes. I have ads on my site now.

My ads are through Project Wonderful. They have an interesting system for ad payments, utilizing an cost per day model determined by an infinite auction. I don’t have to worry about clicks, as my earnings depend purely on what advertisers deem appropriate. I’m not seeking to earn money, but I’ve decided to see if having ads displayed on my website could offset my hosting costs, which aren’t terrible.

I figure, if I could maybe get 5 cents per day, I’d make about 18 dollars in a year, and cover about a third of my hosting costs. It’s just something I’m testing out. And maybe this will give me more of an incentive to develop this site and give you all more of a reason to visit everyday, which is always nice, no?
